Conversation

Chat: images, replies, reactions and unread marks

Everything that fits in a message — and how to come back knowing what you missed.

Every text channel has its own conversation. Every voice room has one too, in the panel next to the shares.

Sending an image

  1. Copy the image and paste it into the message box with Ctrl + V.

  2. Drag the file into the conversation.

  3. Click the paperclip, next to the message box.

Reply, edit and delete

  1. Move the mouse over the message and click Reply. The quoted message appears above yours.

  2. To fix your last message, click the empty box and press the up arrow. Esc cancels.

  3. To delete, use the menu on the message itself. The text and the images disappear for everyone.

Reacting

  1. Move the mouse over the message: three one-click emoji appear, the ones you use the most.

  2. Click the + to open the full list, with search by name.

  3. In the message box, : followed by the name — such as  — completes itself.

Calling someone and not missing a message

Calling someone: type @ and start the nickname; the list appears. Whoever was called gets a notice even with the Mentions only mode on.

Unread marks: channels with a new message get a counter in the left column. When you open the conversation, a line marks where you stopped. If the conversation is scrolled up, a button shows how many new messages arrived.

Extras

What you typed and did not send is kept per channel; /shrug, /tableflip and /me turn into text when you send; bold, italic, code and links work.
