Sharing your screen with sound

How to share

   Join a voice channel.

   Click Share screen, on the bottom bar.

   A menu opens with two choices before it starts: send the sound along and the quality.

   Pick the quality:

   • Saver — 720p, 30 frames. For a tight connection.
   • Sharpness — 1080p, 30 frames. The default, and the best for text and code.
   • Smoothness — 720p, 60 frames. For games.
   • Maximum — 1080p, 60 frames. Heavy.
   • Native source — the size of what you are showing, 30 frames.

   Click Share and choose what to show.

   To change what is being shown without stopping the share, click Change source.

   To finish, click Stop — on the Concordia bar or on the browser’s own notice.

Where the sound goes along

• A Chrome or Edge tab — the tab sound goes along, on any system. It is the most reliable path. Going to show a video? Prefer the tab.
• A whole screen in Chrome or Edge, on Windows — your computer sound goes along.
• A single window — usually no sound.
• Firefox and Safari — they send no sound at all with the screen. The sound box stays off, and that is not a Concordia defect.
• The Windows app — a whole screen goes with the computer sound, with no browser in the way.

Concordia removes from the capture the sound it is playing itself, so your friends’ voices do not come back to them as an echo.

Up to four people can share at the same time in the same room.
